Before your Recording Session here are some studio tips:

1. Lots and lots and lots of practice is the only way to ensure a solid performance.
(This one suggestion alone unequivocally can save you time and money while recording in the studio).

2. New drums heads and proper tuning of your drums are pertinent if you are not planning using our studio drum set.

3. If you can get your guitars or stringed instruments intonated or set up just prior to your recording session will be very helpful in capturing "your" sound.

4. Using your equipment or ours - this is your decision that should be discussed in a pre-production meeting or during your session. We have all kinds of amps and equipment at the studio.  However, if your unique sound comes from your gear, please have it in proper working order and we will be happy to mic it up.

5. How much material? How much time? This is the most challenging hurdle to plan in any recording situation. Everyone works
at their own pace, the musicians and the engineer should be flexible - this can
be discussed during the planning stages of recording.

Typically; One song in an 8 hour day is standard. But this is
often genre dependent.

From our Experience:
If you're trying to shop a recording for a recording contract do not attempt
too much material. If you're just tracking for demos you can do as many song as you like.

6. Please be thoughtful about inviting additional people in the studio while you are crafting or documenting your art form, extra people with opinions tends to be a distraction for the musicians (band) and the engineers. Their presence rarely benificial to capturing or producing a great recording.

7. We do request any musician under the age of 17 be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.

8. If you are bringing pre-recorded music or pre-recorded beats please make sure there is no distortion on the stereo file as this is rarely fixable and can be counter productive to making a recording work.
